Supply Priest at Saint Mary's by the Sea Episcopal Church. The Rev. Powers has

recently retired and our schedule of Eucharist Service on the fourth Sunday of each

month works very well for him and his family with the exception being this month of

July due to prior commitments. The Rev. Powers has offered to have the first Eucharist

Service with us on the First Sunday of August 4th and from then on have the normal

Fourth Sunday Eucharist Service as well starting on August 25th of that month.

Therefore it has been agreed by the members to not have a Eucharist Service in July.

In brief, you should know the following about us: Our church was established in 1965 in its present location and had been responsible for providing great spiritual worship to the Lord as well as fellowship in the community ever since. Sadly our original church from 1965 was lost in Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Construction of the new church pictured above began in 2008 and was completed in 2009 just in time for Easter Sunday Service.

Our mission is to welcome everyone to our Sunday Church Services and adult & children's Sunday School. Our congregation members particularly value our friendly and family atmosphere to all.

The remains of the original church of 1965 after flood damage from Hurricane Katrina.

The beautiful stained glass windows were removed and stored for future use.

The windows were memorials and are now displayed in the new Parish Hall interior.

Sadly, the building was condemned and leveled in 2008 with new building construction.

Here is John Stringer's Website below with photos of the Damage and Salvage.

You can read an article about the damage and rebuilding by clicking the Link below:
